Course Contents:
1. Sharks in peril and why we should care: Unique physical attributes of sharks - Conservation status of sharks - Life history traits that make sharks vulnerable – Importance of sharks to marine ecosystems.
2. Managing threats and recognising values: Major threats contributing to declines in shark populations - Key management strategies that can protect sharks - Value of sharks to local economies - Removing common misperceptions of sharks that are a barrier to conservation.
3. Taking action and joining the Project AWARE movement: Personal actions you can take to protect sharks - Find the conservation status of your local sharks - Discover the sharks in your region - Join the global movement of Project AWARE divers.
4. Status of shark’s presence in the diving sites on the Egyptian Red Sea: Description the most habitats of sharks used for ecotourism in Red Sea - Underwater survey method with shark encounter underwater by divers - Form for observations of sharks – Data collection and analysis – Case study on effect of human activities on the presence of sharks at diving sites of the southern Red Sea, Egypt.
5. Case study on Oceanic whitetip shark: Identification using Photo-ID technique underwater – Data analysis – Understanding OWT behaviour with divers – How to practice the best diving skills with OWT safely? Reporting shark attack accident the international form.

Divers and snorkelers.
