  5. KIDS Full Moon Kayaking Tour
    AED123.81

This is truly rustic “enjoyment of the great outdoors” and offers a visit to the more serene Eastern Lagoon Mangroves near the E48 Substation on Al Salam St.The Mangroves here are many and cover a vast area with lots of side channels to venture into & explore (tide levels permitting). However there is no changing/shower facilities on site so bring a towel to dry yourself off before getting into your car.

The timings of our tours are approximate and will depend on the tide levels, the wind & weather conditions. We always endeavor to check the weather and tides to ensure a pleasant kayak experience for all. The low tide allows us to see more birds, crabs and fish prevalent in the area, whereas the high tide tour allows you to venture deeper into the mangroves. There will be a briefing on the importance of the Mangroves and tuition on Kayaking for all sessions.

A summary of other things you might like to know:

    1. Al Mahara provides experienced guides who will take you out on the waters.
    2. We suggest you bring plenty of sunscreen, wear a hat & suitable clothes for watersports (you will get a little wet) and sturdy footwear – our launch site is rocky & muddy; flip-flops & sandals tend to get stuck in mud and slip on rocks. A change of footwear for afterwards might also be a good idea.
    3. You will be given a 500ml bottle of water to keep you hydrated during the tour (please bring more if you like).
    4. Everyone will be provided with & required to wear a life jacket (Personal Flotation Device) for your safety and peace of mind.
    5.  You are likely to see a host of birdlife (Heron, Cormorants, possibly Flamingos) & fish in the water, jelly fish, crabs etc.
    6. You will need to decide if you want to bring your cameras/phones if photos are to be taken. It is up to you and if you do bring them then they will need to go in a waterproof bag because water does splash into the kayak (we will have waterproof Dry Paks and Pelican boxes available for retail on site).

Our aim is to provide all our valued kayakers a fun and safe experience in an eco-friendly way through kayaking to discover the hidden treasures of the Mangroves and where possible highlight the Mangrove fauna.
